Jeff Campbell and I are the proud co-editor/parents of Murder Most Alberta a new anthology of crime fiction, all stories set in good ‘ol Alberta. With the exception of Vancouver crime-powerhouse Sam Wiebe—who I insisted on inviting because I love his books and wanted to see him apply his skills to my home province—it’s a showcase of all-Alberta authors including yours truly. It’s out on 7th Terrace.
Murder Most Alberta is a good cross-section of styles, from cozy mystery to noir to seriously disturbing. One of the things I love about the book is how the writers capture unique aspects of Alberta. The settings will feel real to you if you live here. There’s more to setting a story in Alberta than simply deleting the word “Chicago” and typing “Calgary” in its place. The best stories in this book could have come from nowhere else. I’ll have links to sources for this book up here soon!
